ANDRÉ VIDA

Saxophonist · Composer · Educator

I’m André Vida, a Berlin-based saxophonist, composer and educator. For over three decades my work has moved between improvisation, contemporary music, composition and experimental performance.

I’ve performed and collaborated internationally with artists including Anthony Braxton, Anri Sala, Hildur Guðnadóttir, Tarek Atoui and Jamie Lidell, with projects presented at institutions including the Serpentine Gallery, New Museum and Berlin Biennale.

I bring that experience into teaching without expecting students to follow one particular musical path. Lessons can focus on technique, sound, repertoire, improvisation, experimentation — or simply becoming more comfortable and confident with the instrument.
